Empty Space Explorer ESE 2

ESE 2 (aka Easy Too) is not about solar systems and so on, but is a way to visualize the first things that enter your head when you start dreaming, usually after hours of sleeping without any dreams (the empty space) – thát moment is what my search is about.

2003, 3 paintings

In 2003 I started working with paint on a more regular base. In first instance I used white paint because there wasn’t any other color in the house and color didn’t interest me. Painting itself was what it was all about, no matter how or what.

prism glasses 3

A few of a few people I showed the glasses acted pretty strange. Some immediately liked it, and recognized it as a sort of natural lsd trip, while others got angry and insulted, about what I had done to them!! Unbelievable

Empty Space Observer ESO 1

Hollow, slow and dark to explore the emptiness, somewhere far in the universe. The reason is not really clear, but because of the presence of this jellyfish makes the space it explores not empty anymore. But still it’s a bit sad for this explorer to never meet another one. In his eyes the space is empty, but from here it’s not, because of this one!

split teaspoon

Some call it capital destruction – yes really – because before this intervention it was still a usable object. But suppose someone pays me € 5 for this creation, it suddenly it is found oké and that’s it. Like so many other processes.

slide viewer

A slide viewer brought back to life. From battery to a cable with an adapter. The interior is totally refurbished. Did this a few years ago.

plastic future

Prototype of a micro plastic eating jellyfish, that will eater by other, larger creatures once full. And on and on. Plastic eating itself because of a little awareness.

SOL 1, improved

Experiments with tin cans and electro magnets: Solanoids. Sol 1 I made in March 2018, Sol 2 this week. But I discovered that if the can is vertically not tightly fixed to the structure, the impact of the heavy 24 Volt solenoids is much more effective. Great moment. It’s all in the tuning – I discovered yesterday. The original SOL 1: Solenoid 1
[Today I have worked with WordPress for exactly 3 months!!] [Before April I will place this site on vrijland.nl

SOL 2

Just today I’m getting to realize how much time I had to spend on programming my old website. Hardly time for making things themselves. Next to learning WordPress I also begun taking photo’s of the object with a green or blue screen in the background of the object. Great advantage is (how I work with it) to be able to adjust pure the colors of the backgrounds without to destroy the object itself.
But what makes this new way of working so nice, I think, is not only that I can give much more information about my creations, but also that afterwards it’s possible to extend pages and posts. Fun!

alarm clock

A special alarm clock as an attempt to wake me up. Actually, this still doesn’t work, although te alarm clock itself is on the other side of the room, to snooze it. I really have to find a solution so I think about a plant spray that sprays water over my head next to it. Sleeping is not the problem, but to miss appointments is terrible.

strobo led (4)

An old remote control (stil without printed characters on the buttons) converted to a portable stroboscope. It works but not really bright. Consider this a practical atelier joke.

led lamp

To have some material for this new site I made a few stroboscope lights, an incense burner. Besides that I made some photo’s of earlier work.

strobo disco (3)

The site started in 1998. Until recently I wrote the page myself in program languages. Because I had a certain level I couldn’t see the advantages of WordPress. However, in the and I knew I had to make the step.
