95 Desktop Ring

This is a desktop bell. It works on USB and is controlled with the help of a mouse. I made it with some spare parts I had lying around, except for the capacitor that ensures that the motor comes to a quiet stop when the mouse button is released. The bell is a simple toy but gives an old, otherwise crappy one-button mouse a new function. It is also a nod to the multitude of actions/events that can be triggered by computers nowadays – whole wars can be started and entire careers ended with just one click of the mouse.
